Kingswood College, Hull
Kingswood College of Arts (formerly Perronet Thompson School) was a state secondary mixed school on the northern fringe of the Bransholme housing estate in Kingston upon Hull, England.
History and design
Perronet Thompson School was built in 1988.[1] The building is unusual in having very few windows on the exterior walls, instead taking light from a large barrelled glass roof stretching the length of the building.
In 1999 the school closed due to poor performance.[2] It was later renamed Kingswood High School and received funding under a government programme to specialise as an Arts College.[1]
In 2011 Hull City Council decided to demolish the school, and rebuild it with better facilities as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme.[3]
